Important information:

  1. Check the Games schedule so you know what sports and events you want to participate in
  2. Check the sports costs so you know how much each event will cost
  3. Know which day you will be picking up your registration pack, Saturday, Sunday or Wednesday
  4. For families each member will be required to complete a new registration and they will receive their own login and password
  5. In the system Team means State or Country if you’re from overseas

Registration for the 16th Australian Transplant Games will close August 19, 2018. Once you register, your information can be updated and changed, including your sport/event selection up to close of business on Saturday August 19, 2018. Remember, in order to register for The Games, you must be a current member of Transplant Australia. This is a requirement for our insurance policy and applies to everyone attending our event – we want you to be safe and covered. Join up or renew your membership now!

CANCELLATION POLICY

Registrations cancelled from September 1, 2018 and before September 14, 2018 will incur a cancellation/administration fee of 25% – (up to a maximum of $100 per family) plus any transactions fees. Cancellations received from September 15, 2018 will incur an administration fee of 50% – (up to a maximum of $150 per family) plus any transactions fees.

Gala Cancellation: Notification of cancellation or change to gala dinner must reach the National Office by Friday September 14, 2018. Late cancellations will be subject to the catering body’s cancellation policy and may incur the full cost of each meal booked plus any transactions fees. ENTRY CONDITIONS

Transplant Australia, as a National Sporting Organisation recognised by the Australian Sports Commission, has an obligation to ensure that all participants in the Games, both competitors and supporters, abide by a number of important conditions. This helps ensure the safety of competitors and that the spirit of the Games is honoured at all times.

For insurance purposes, all participants must be a current financial member of Transplant Australia to be eligible to compete.

MEDICAL CERTIFICATES

Transplant recipients must submit a Medical Certificate dated between April 7, 2018 and August 7, 2018.

WAIVER AND CODE OF CONDUCT

When completing registration you will be asked to sign a Waiver, a Photography Release, and the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is part of the Member Protection Policy which can be downloaded from transplant.org.au under Membership. The Code Principles are: SAFETY, RESPONSIBILITY, RESPECT, FAIRNESS.

REGISTRATION COSTS

Transplant Australia strives to keep the costs of the Games as low as possible to ensure as many transplant recipients and the transplant community can participate. All registrants will receive a Games bag, shirt and cap and personal injury insurance.

Adults (18+) Under the user pay system, you only pay for the sports you choose to participate in.

Juniors (17 years and under) have free registration and only pay for certain social events including the gala dinner and team dinners.

SPORTS EVENTS

There are certain limitations on the sports events as follows: Only one full-day sport can be selected per day however an evening sport can also be added, ie: swimming (day) and volleyball (evening).

Racquet sports: Only two events can be selected out of singles, pairs and mixed pairs for tennis, table tennis and badminton. Swimming and Athletics – Adults and Juniors: A maximum of 5 events plus relays can be selected.

AGE CATEGORIES

All events are divided into age categories, unless otherwise stated. The age categories are as follows:

Junior Transplant Athlete (0-5yrs | 6-8yrs | 9-11yrs | 12-14yrs | 15-17yrs)

Adult Transplant Athlete (18-29yrs | 30-39yrs | 40-49yrs | 50-59yrs | 60-69yrs | 70+)

Junior Supporter (0-5yrs | 6-8yrs | 9-11yrs | 12-14yrs | 15-17yrs)

Adult Supporter (18-29yrs | 30-39yrs | 40-49yrs | 50-59yrs | 60-69yrs | 70+)

TEAM SPORTS EVENTS

On the Games Registration you can indicate if you would like to be considered to represent your state in team events. Please note these are open to those ages 15 years plus. Your State Team Manager will then contact you to advise if you have been selected.

PAIRS/DOUBLES/MIXED DOUBLES: You can indicate your preferred partner on the Games registration. For those who do not have a preferred partner, you can enter TBA and your team manager will pair you up with a suitable partner.
