Australia’s biggest celebration of spring, Floriade will be on in Canberra from 14 September – 13 October 2024.
Floriade is a free flower and entertainment festival held annually in Canberra’s Commonwealth Park on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. Featuring Insta-worthy floral displays, horticultural workshops, live music, a popular market, plus the region’s best food and wine, no spring is complete without a trip to Floriade.

The Darling Portrait Prize is a biennial national prize for Australian portrait painting honouring the legacy of Mr L Gordon Darling AC CMG. It offers a platform for artists to explore the evolving notion of Australian identity while celebrating emerging and established portrait painters. The 24 finalists will be on display at the National Portrait Gallery, June – October 2024.

The National Dinosaur Museum is Australia’s largest permanent display of prehistoric specimens. The Museum houses over 150 dinosaur models, 23 complete skeletons, and over 300 displays of individual fossils in its multi-level indoor gallery, as well as a garden space featuring a 20-metre animatronic T. rex.
