The Junior Program is designed especially for junior transplant recipients aged from 4-17. This is a unique opportunity for children and teens to shine in a variety of events and activities, meet other kids just like them and hopefully take home a medal for “show and tell”.
Siblings, friends and family can also join in the fun and participate in the Supporter Competitor category in a selected range of sports.
Our junior program includes sports for athletes to compete in and extra activities just for fun.
During the Australian Transplant Games, we have some extra activities specifically designed for juniors and their parents. Check out the events below.
DATE: Tuesday 1 October
TIME: 4pm-5pm (registration desk opens from 3:45pm & closes by 4pm)
VENUE: Café, AIS Visitor Centre
The Kids Party Games are a fantastic way for all children attending the Games—recipients, siblings, and donor family kids—to enjoy fun and games in a lively party atmosphere, while getting to know each other right from the start. Meanwhile, adults can attend the AGM, kid-free, and connect with others.
This will be one big event filled with back-to-back games, plenty of fun, and even some exciting prizes. A team of young adult recipients, led by our Support Manager, will ensure a safe and enjoyable environment, right next door to the AGM.
Parents must sign their children in and out on the day. Open to kids aged 5 to 17 years old.
DATE: Thursday 3 October
TIME: 8:00am-9:00am
VENUE: Café, AIS Visitor Centre
Don’t miss the chance to connect face-to-face with other parents and carers of transplant recipients over a relaxed coffee. This will be an informal, organic time to chat, share experiences, and form meaningful connections. Some of our very own Transplant Australia Tx Parents Connect Online Team will be there to greet you.
We’ll be covering the cost of hot drinks for up to 50 parents (first come, first served), and you are of course welcome to purchase your own food and drinks. It’s a great opportunity to exchange helpful resources and be reminded that you’re not alone in the journey of caring for a young transplant recipient.
Kids, teens, and young adults are also welcome, please note: their drinks and food are at your own cost. For those bringing young children, we’ll have kids colouring packs available.
DATE: Saturday 5 October
TIME: 12pm – 2pm
LOCATION: AIS Basketball and Netball Centre
Join us for an action-packed afternoon designed to take your basketball skills to the next level. Whether you’re a beginner or an aspiring pro, experienced Basketball ACT coaches will help you develop and learn new skills. All juniors welcome. Registration is essential, CLICK HERE to register.
