Meet your state team managers

Meet the passionate team managers supporting athletes, coordinating teams and building community spirit across the country. Our state managers play a vital role in creating an unforgettable Australian Transplant Games experience for everyone involved. Get to know the people leading the way for their teams on the road to Launceston 2026.

ACT

Vicki Bellingham

Vicki Bellingham has been involved in the Transplant Games since 2010, originally as a volunteer when the Games were first held in Canberra. Her connection began when her son first participated in the Games.

Vicki’s involvement was first inspired by her son Scott’s participation following two liver transplants. Vicki and her family have remained closely connected to the Games, even after Scott’s passing in 2015.

Joining Vicki are Assistant Team Managers Katie Stanley and Maree O’Brien, who will help lead and support Team ACT on the road to Launceston 2026.

NSW

Susan Robson

Susan Robson has been involved with Transplant Australia since meeting her husband, Geoff Jessup, a liver transplant recipient. She first volunteered at the Perth World Transplant Games in 2023, then supported the team in Canberra 2024 and Dresden 2025.

She will be cheering Team NSW on and off the field, supporting athletes to achieve personal goals, celebrate personal bests, and perhaps collect a few medals along the way.

Alongside Susan is Donna Beer, the New South Wales Assistant Team Manager. Together, they are looking forward to supporting Team NSW, building team spirit and helping create an unforgettable Games experience.

NT

Glen Scholz

Glen Scholz, is two-time cancer survivor and long-time endurance cyclist. Glen understands firsthand the life-changing impact of medical research, organ donation and a strong support network. His personal journey fuels his passion for giving back and creating positive outcomes for others.

Professionally, Glen works in cycling operations and development with AusCycling in the Northern Territory. Where he focuses on participation, performance pathways, building inclusive and sustainable sporting communities.

As a team manager, Glen is proud to support NT athletes heading to the Games while also helping share the powerful message of organ and tissue donation.

QLD

Aaron Williams, Alison Beythein, Will Bassett & Lyn Williams

Queensland’s management team includes Aaron Williams, Lyn Williams, Alison Beythein and Will Bassett.

Aaron Williams is a proud kidney transplant recipient and will be competing in his fifth Australian Transplant Games.

He also hopes every participant walks away with at least one meaningful memory from the week. As he says,

“The friendships I’ve made through these Games have made my own journey so much easier, knowing there are others who truly understand what I’ve felt and experienced along the way.”

Lyn Williams is a passionate advocate for the transplant community whose journey began alongside her husband, Glenn, during his battle with declining health before receiving a life-saving kidney transplant in late 2023.

Following his recovery, Glenn competed in the 2024 Australian Transplant Games in Canberra – an experience Lyn describes as inspiring, uplifting and filled with connection, gratitude and community spirit.

Alison is also a dedicated supporter whose husband, Greg, received a life-saving liver transplant in 2019. Since then, Alison and Greg have proudly attended the Australian and World Transplant Games in Perth, Canberra and Dresden, Germany. Through these experiences, Alison has witnessed the incredible impact of the Games in bringing the transplant community together.

Will is a liver transplant recipient and active member of the Queensland transplant community. While he can’t attend the Games this year, he put his hand up to support others as a Queensland Team Manager after experiencing the incredible atmosphere of Canberra 2024.

He’s excited to support the team and encourages everyone to get involved in local Transplant Australia events before the Games.

SA

Penny Geue

This is Penny’s second Australian Transplant Games. Inspired by her first Games in Canberra in 2024, she’s excited to reconnect with the transplant community and celebrate the gift of life.

Penny received a kidney transplant from a living donor six years ago. Her transplant has given her the opportunity to return to the things she loves most – including playing golf, travelling, and enjoying holidays camping.

Joining Penny as Assistant Team Manager is Julie Black, who is looking forward to supporting the team both on and off the field.

TAS

Craig Bassett

Craig Bassett received a life-saving kidney transplant in 2022 after many years on dialysis. Since then, he has returned to work and proudly represented Tasmania at the 2024 Games in Canberra.

Now serving as Tasmanian Team Manager, Craig is excited to support athletes and showcase everything Launceston has to offer visitors from across Australia and overseas. One venue especially close to his heart is Windsor Park Riverside, where he played his first soccer game more than 40 years ago.

VIC

Peter Wain

Peter is a kidney transplant recipient who is celebrating over 10 years of transplantation; receiving his transplant in 2012.

He has competed in a range of both Australian and World Transplant Games participating in sports such as tennis, volleyball, badminton and ten pin bowling.

For Peter, the Games are more than sport – they are an opportunity to connect with others on a similar journey and reflect on how far he has come.

He is also passionate about not letting his transplant define his limitations – as he prepares to hike Everest Base Camp later this year.

WA

Julie Scudds

Julie has been involved with Transplant Australia since her husband, WA Chair Troy Scudds, received a liver transplant in 2013. Since then, she has travelled across Australia and overseas for the Games, most recently serving as Assistant Team Manager for Australia in Dresden, Germany.

Julie understands how meaningful the Games are for recipients, families and the wider transplant community. Alongside Assistant Team Manager Peter Thompson, they are excited to lead Team WA to Launceston 2026.

And across the Tasman, a special shoutout to our New Zealand team manager – Jess –  we can’t wait to welcome you to Launceston and have you join us for the Games. Jess is a Christchurch local who received a double lung transplant in 2020. Since her transplant she has rebuilt an active life, representing New Zealand at the Australian Transplant Games.

A huge thank you to all of our team managers and assistant team managers for the time, care and energy you give to supporting athletes, families and the transplant community. Your passion and dedication help make the Games so special.
