Whether you prefer public transport, driving, cycling, or walking, it’s easy to get around Launceston. You’ll love the range of experiences on offer and they’re all closer than you think.

ATG26 Shuttle Transport

ATG26 Shuttle service passes should be pre-purchased through the Games online registration system.

The Games transport option can be selected when registering at a cost of $60 per adult / $40 per child, covering transport costs for the entire period of the Games, including airport to CBD drop-off points at selected times.

*The ATG26 Shuttle schedule and routes are currently being finalised and will be made available closer to the event  

  • Sebel Hotel – Metro bus stop in St John St outside The Sebel Hotel, 12 St John Street LauncestonPick 
  • Hotel Grand Chancellor  29 Cameron Street Launceston 
  • Mercure Hotel – the Metro bus stop in Brisbane Street, opposite 13 Brisbane Street Launceston 
  • Penny Royal Hotel, Bridge Road Launceston under the overpass 

The shuttle will run to and from each sport and special event venue (please note peer support activities on the schedule are not included in the Shuttle service). 

  • $60 per adult
  • $40 per child (free for ages 4 or below when sitting on parents lap)

  • Saturday 26 September 2026 – from Launceston Airport to the designated Games hotel pick-up/drop-off points. 
  • Departures on Sunday 4 October – from designated Games hotel pick-up/drop-off points to Launceston Airport. 

Please note the airport routes on the above dates will operate at set times throughout the day – these may not align directly with every flight so will be within a 2-hour window of flights arriving into Launceston. Trailers for bicycles are not included in the ATG Shuttle airport transfer days.  

Registrants who have selected the Games transport shuttle option on their registration, will be asked to include in their registration form the details of their transport requirements including accommodation location, flight and departure details to assist with our planning. We may ask these details of you again closer to the event date to confirm details.   

Parking

Public Airport Transfers

There are currently no public transport services to and from Launceston Airport to Launceston. Airport transfers can be pre-booked through Launceston Airport, click here  for transport information to and from Launceston Airport.

Taxis

To catch a taxi in Launceston, use a taxi rank where the clearly marked cars are parked and ready for dispatch. You can also phone ahead or book online.

Public Transport

Metro operates Launceston’s main public transport system, a bus network that services the city. Please be aware many routes do not operate later in the evening or on a Sunday.

The Launceston Regional Transit Centre is located at 25 St John Street Launceston (opposite the Sebel Hotel).
