A major national event like this simply isn’t possible without a passionate team. We are looking for volunteers with a wide variety of skills to help bring these Games to life for our athletes, families, and spectators, while gaining incredible experience on a national stage.

17 Roles available. 1 Sport Coordinator per sport responsible for;
These roles require being on-site and actively moving around the sport venue for the full length of competition.
Sport Coordinators may not participate in the sport they are coordinating.
2-3 Roles available, based in Games Hub office responsible for;
This role requires a high level of technology capacity including experience working with excel, goggle docs and results systems including Meet Manager etc.
Preference is given to an applicant who can fulfil this role consistently each day of the event where possible.
6 Roles available based onsite per applicable sport responsible for ;
This role requires a high level of organisation and communication.
Coordinators may not participate in the sport they are coordinating.
14 Roles available based onsite per applicable sport responsible for;
This role requires a high level of communication, pronunciation, and organisation.
Coordinators may not participate in the sport they are coordinating.
4 roles available per shift, working as a pair, responsible for;
Drivers license required. These roles require driving provided ute, physical and manual labor to pick up, assess weather conditions and forecasts, move and pack down various signage items include pull-up and tear-drop banners, media walls, A-frames, marquees and fence panelling.
This role requires initiative to assess weather conditions to ensure safe securement of signs for public safety, while also following pre-determined signage plans.
5 roles available per shift, based at each ATG26 Shuttle Stop, responsible for;
This role requires staying in touch with the Transport Coordinator via mobile and is outdoors based.
2 roles available per shift, based out of the ATG Games Hub for on-call driving needs including;
Minimum age 25 with a full valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
VIP Driver role is on-demand, on stand-by at the ATG Games Hub.
Vehicles and fuel are provided.
Up to 4 roles available per shift, based out of the ATG Games Hub and special event venues responsible for;
Roles involve lifting boxes, styling tables, following run sheets, high level of organisation and ability to follow instruction.
Students studying event management seeking experience would be well suited to these roles .

Role involves friendly faces and helpful, clear directions.
Up to 15 roles available per shift based on site across two events, responsible for;
Role involves sitting on course for the length of the event – outdoors in all conditions. BYO chair if required.

Role involves walking and carrying potentially heavy/bulky/dirty items.
Multiple roles available moving around the event, responsible for;
This role plays a key role in capturing the spirit and stories of the Australian Transplant Games by producing engaging short-form video content and photography for social media and future Games promotion.
Ideal for a creative and proactive individual, this role suits someone with a passion for storytelling, a good eye for visual content, and confidence using cameras, mobile editing tools and/or social platforms.
Up to 4 roles available per shift, based at the Check in venue, responsible for;
Ideal for someone who are organised, approachable, and calm under pressure, this role suits individuals who enjoy working with people and contributing to a well-run event experience.
If you are also registering to participate in the Games; please do not volunteer for a role/shift that clashes or is held at the same day/time as events you would like to participate in.
If you are looking for an opportunity to help out with the Games but think you will be too busy participating – don’t worry there are also volunteer roles you can assist with the planning stages!
1 role available working virtually and in close coordination with the event team, responsible for;
This role plays an important behind-the-scenes role in preparing for the Australian Transplant Games by supporting participant registration processes in the lead-up to the event.
Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working with data systems, this role suits individuals who enjoy administrative tasks and contributing to a well-organised event team.
Up to 17 roles available, working virtually and in close coordination with the event team, responsible for providing virtual general training guidance, tips, and encouragement in the lead-up to the event through;
Working remotely, this role will help foster a supportive and inclusive environment that empowers participants to safely return to movement.
Ideal for someone with a background in sport, coaching, or fitness, this role suits individuals who are knowledgeable and encouraging.
Unlimited roles available, seeking individuals who are open to speaking about their story and what the Games means to them and their recover/life post transplantation.
Based in Tasmania, these roles will attend speaking and/or media interview opportunities at community groups and pre-event activities to encourage more local residents to sign up to participate in the Games.
There are some basic eligibility requirements you must meet to be a volunteer. Preference will be given to volunteers who are able to commit to at least three shifts.
All volunteers must be 16 years of age or over as at the time of the event, hold a valid Working with Children (WWCC) or State equivalent and agree to Transplant Australia’s policies and safeguarding requirements.
You’ll learn new skills, make connections, and most importantly, help deliver an amazing event for athletes, their families, and supporters, and help create memories that will last a lifetime.

Volunteers will be sent an information handbook with event details and be required to attend the mandatory event briefings held online in the fortnight prior to the event.

No! While past event or Games experience can certainly be valuable, volunteers are not required to have past volunteering experience to work on the Games.
Absolutely! Provisions will be made to ensure people with accessibility needs or other adjustments are given every opportunity to volunteer at the event in the best and safest way. We are committed to providing equal opportunity for everyone.

No, volunteers will not be paid. We are extremely grateful for the support provided by all of our volunteers.
Yes, our insurance covers all volunteers who are Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Accommodation or travel won’t be provided for Volunteers.
Shifts will be from 3 – 9 hours with some shifts being slightly shorter, or longer, due to competition schedules.
It is important for us to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our volunteers.
Breaks will be arranged based on the length of your shift, but you should speak to your supervisor if you are fatigued or need a break.
Some roles will be required to stand and/or walk for a large part of their shift. If you have any accessibility or mobility requirements, please advise in your registration.
More information will be provided during training – if you have any questions or concerns, please discuss them with your supervisor or the workforce team.
It is important for us to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our volunteers.

Depending on the length of your shift, a meal and beverages /refreshments may be provided.
We’ll do our best to deliver diverse menu choices that address the standard dietary requirements options such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten and dairy free. If we cannot accommodate a specific dietary requirement due to operational reasons, you may need to provide your own meals.
Being amongst the action is one of the best parts of volunteering at a major event!
Volunteers must be focused on their duties first and foremost, as well as consider the safety of others and themselves. You are welcome to watch the competition when it does not interfere with your tasks.
