The Australian Transplant Games has 17 different sports played over the week.
From swimming to athletics, darts to basketball, there’s a sport for everyone. This year we have one new exciting sport making its debut and two women’s specific exhibition opportunities available for all categories that you won’t want to miss.
Pickleball
Following the success of the pickleball exhibition match at the 2024 Australian Transplant Games, it was an easy decision to officially include it as a competitive sport for 2026.
Pickleball is one of the fastest-growing sports in Australia and around the world. Fast-paced, social and incredibly fun to play, it combines quick reflexes, clever shot-making and exciting rallies that keep players and spectators engaged from start to finish.
Pickleball is open for registration for competitors aged 15 years and above, with transplant competitors (Warriors) able to compete in singles and doubles competition, and supporters (Champions) able to participate as doubles.
Netball - Exhibition Match
We’re excited to deliver Netball as part of the 2026 Australian Transplant Games program as a Women’s Exhibition match.
Netball holds a special place in Australia’s sporting culture, with generations of players and fans growing up with the game. With such a strong national love for netball, it only felt right to bring it to the 2026 Australian Transplant Games.
The exhibition match is open to women in both the transplant (Warriors) and supporter (Champions) categories aged 15 years and older as a come and try opportunity.
The women’s netball exhibition game will not contribute to individual or State team tallies.
Women's Beginner Golf
This year we are also introducing a Women’s Beginner Golf experience, designed to be welcoming, relaxed and supportive for those new to the game. Whether you’ve never picked up a club before or are looking to build confidence on the course, this is a great opportunity to learn the basics.
With a focus on participation over performance, the session will cover simple skills, along with plenty of time to practice at your own pace over a 9-hole course. It’s also a chance to connect with other women across the transplant community, enjoy time outdoors and experience a new sport without pressure.
The beginner golf is open to all girls and women aged 12 years and older in both the transplant (Warriors) and supporter (Champions) categories.
Please note, Women’s Beginner Golf is a come-and-try activity and will not contribute to individual or State team tallies.
